The best way to reach Jan is through her blog. She can be contacted directly there. Comment on any post (even if you are asking a question or making a comment that isn't related to the post) and she will receive a notice letting her know that a message is waiting. Just click on the word Comment at the bottom of any post. If you don't want to leave your e-mail address on the blog, you can comment there anonymously. In most cases, comments on the blog will be answered more quickly than e-mail. You can also send an e-mail message to Jan through Heidi, the webmaven. Jan tries to answer all of the email she receives from readers, although sometimes, especially during tours or when she's on deadline, it may take a little while for her to respond. Jan makes personal appearances at libraries, bookstores, conventions, and other events throughout the year. Check the Schedule page to see where she'll be in the near future! Sign up Jan's mailing list by entering your email address below. For more information about the Mailing List, click here. Will Jan sign a bookplate, a photograph, a bookif I mail it to her with return postage? Sorry, at present the answer is no. Because she tours often, attends conventions, and speaks at Crime Lab Project eventswhere books can be brought to her for signingand because she wants to support the bookstores that invite her to do signings, Jan does not accept individual requests to sign materials mailed to her. Please do not attempt to send materials to her for her signature, as it is unlikely they will be returned to you. You can contact the bookstores on the Order Books page about the availability of signed copies or to pre-order copies autographed or personalized. * * * Will Jan read my unpublished manuscript? Sorry, no. Due to the number of these requests, this is not possible at this time. If your manuscript is about to be published (other than self-published), your agent can contact Jan's agent to try to arrange for her to read materials for possible endorsement. * * * Will Jan speak to my group? Email Heidi with as many details of your request as possible. Because she is writing and working on behalf of the Crime Lab Project, Jan's time for speaking engagements is limited. |
